Timber and resin river coffee table with inlaid blue agate slices

This coffee table features two slabs of live-edge camphour laurel from western Queensland. The centre resin river section contains royal blue agate slices set in a bed of crushed glass.

I made the table top a while ago and it has been waiting for the right legs. The narrow width of timber on one side made it difficult to find a set of legs that suited the table and were narrow enough. The legs are tapered timber with a metal crossed framing structure which give it an elegant profile, and are 50cm in height.

This side table looks better matte rather than the usual glossy finish I use, so I sanded the table surface back, wet sanding up to 800 grit and then polishing it to a beautiful buttery finish.

The entire table top is encased in clear resin.

Dimensions of table top are: 40cm (15.7")W x 45cm (17.7")H x 3cm (1.2")D.

The table top and legs will be sent in two separate packages, the underside of the table top already has the screw holes pre-drilled, and the table comes complete with screws. They will just need to be screwed back into place with a phillips head screwdriver.

The height of the table is 53cm (21").
